Typically, a city hall ceremony is brief, usually lasting between 5 and 10 minutes. While each city hall has its own approach, they all strive to make the experience memorable.
Right after the ceremony, you’ll receive two international wedding certificates to take home with you.
Though short, the ceremony is designed to be a special and meaningful moment.
Step 5: Returning home after your danish wedding
Congratulations! You’ve just had an unforgettable wedding in Denmark and are now returning home as newlyweds.
As exciting as this time is, there are a few important steps to take to ensure everything is properly documented and recognized in your home country.
Although your marriage is officially registered in Denmark, it still needs to be registered in the country where you reside. This can typically be done at your local registry office or government office. We recommend taking care of this as soon as possible to ensure your marriage is fully recognized by local authorities.
Additionally, if you plan on changing your name after marriage, this process will need to be completed in your home country. Each country has different procedures, so it’s important to check the local requirements and complete the necessary paperwork.
Remember, we’re still here for you even after your wedding day. Whether you have questions about your marriage certificate or need further assistance, we’re just a call or email away.
